Carl Panzram, also known as Carl Baldwin, Jeff Davis, Jefferson Davis, Jefferson Rhodes, Jeff Rhodes, Jack Allen, Jefferson Baldwin, John King, or John O’Leary, was an American serial killer.

His killing spree was between 1920 and 1929, and spreaded in two continents.

It was not the killings he did when he was a free man cost him his life. He was sentenced to death when he killed a foreman at Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary, while serving for 25 years. He did not appeal the sentence and even threatened to kill who wanted to appeal on his behalf.

He was hanged on September 5, 1930. His last words were: “Hurry it up, you Hoosier bastard. I could hang a dozen men while you’re fooling around.”
